I like the fact that we're not throwing him straight in and giving Adam Walne another go. I'm sure he'll have plenty of game time over the season, but to be honest everyone in the squad deserves their place IMO. Both Neal and James have come on leaps and bounds in the last few weeks! Give him a bit more time with the squad and it will also put pressure on those in the squad at the moment, it's always nice to see a bit of competition for places!

Yes I agree with that. Was James rotated and rested at Bradford? Thought he had his best game for us against the Giants. Will be interesting to see which props are picked for this game.

Anyone know how far Vic Mauro is off a return? Also has anybody heard what's happening with McGoldrick? I noticed Gleeson is back, I wonder if Gaskell will be switched to stand off or Hunte will stick with Fages & Foran.

Think Gleeson will just come in for Ajwang won't he?

Forgot about Ashley Gibson's being left out again. According to the club website only McPherson is out injured at the moment and due to return in 2 weeks. If the website is up to date then Mauro, McGoldrick and Williams don't appear to be figuring under the interim coaching setup.

Gibson isn't fit,certainly,and I don't think two of the others are either.

I think it's just McGoldrick that is out of favour.

Gibbo got injured against the Giants, Williams was against Saints I think & McGoldrick tweeted earlier this week that he was getting back fit. Didn't Mauro have a knee injury? Given Gibbo's recent performances, particularly in attack, he's the clubs top scorer I doubt he will have been left out if fit.

I believe Vic Mauro is playing for the 20s this evening.

On the subject of the game, only 1 defeat from 5 for Widnes at home including putting 30+ on Hull and Wire. Also rested a few players for their easter Monday game at Hudds. Can see this being the game where the easter weekend catches up with us, although hope to be proved wrong.

Nice to see at last the possibility of selection issues.

Gaskill can't be dropped and Gleeson needs to be in.

Think if everyone was fit you'd need to go.



Sneyd, Williams, Gleeson, Gaskill, Broughton, Fages, Foran. But as Williams is either injured or not getting picked Murphy seems much better on the wing than at full back. I personally think the fully fit back line looks like with the inclusion of Gaskill that it could do some damage especially as it seems we appear to have in Foran the makings of a #7 who can boss the game.



Like that we seem to have two hookers playing well and think the only thing really at the moment we don't seem to be able to select is a real ball playing loose forward.
