I felt we recovered well from the injury setbacks to be level at half time and then take the lead at the start of the second half. We then tried to batter Leigh into submission purely through our forwards rather than carrying on in the same style that got us in front. I know we had Dobson and Chase on the sidelines but the problem was our mindset rather than the execution. How ironic that after a period of not spreading the play once we then attempted to do it in our own 20.



I felt there was enough bravery shown from our players commitment but not from our tactics. It was refreshing to see Leighs approach. Fortune favoured the brave.



We've made progress in the last month and a cup run would have given us real momentum on and off the field. It never seems it's meant to be for our club

I felt we had a good chance of a win today but was trying not to let myself get carried away! Think Leigh knew that playing 'safe' percentage rugby was never going to do the job against a top Super League side. Glad we stuck to our usual style of attacking from anywhere and throwing the ball around. We took a lot of risks and made a lot of errors but eventually we managed to just about cause enough problems for Salford and held onto our lead.

I'll tell you what went wrong after the game,Ryan Brierley went to clap the Salford fans and some goons started throwing bottles at him.

Salford have dominated the games this year vs Wakefield, Hull, Wigan and Hudds yet the biggest winning margin is 6 points. We seem to have a problem in killing games off. Really should've put it to bed today at 12-18 but credit to Leigh for staying in the game then being good enough to get in front and hold onto it.



As stated above would rather have seen evalds moved to 6 when the injuries kicked in with Paterson in the centres however surely now we must ditch the 4 forwards on the bench policy.

A lot of very patronising comments posted by Leigh fans on here. No, Salford did not "play well" otherwise they would have stuffed Leigh as they have shown they are a class side this season. Amazing what a season of hammering sub-standard opposition in division one has done to Leigh supporters self-delusion.

Don't know about the others but I suspect you didn't actual attend the Wakefield game if that is your opinion.

Now it's not so raw and am sober, still gutted at the golden chance missed but need to look at the positives. Evalds, class. The guy is just awesome and well done Harris on sticking with him (although I also think Locke should have been in the squad, hindsight is a wonderful thing). We kept going dispite everything going against us. Another great turnout. Great set up at Leigh, had a good day other than the result. We're still 4th in the league. Onwards and upwards!
