Would you mind not coming on here and making too much sense it’s strictly frowned upon. This forum is for excitable, frustrated keyboard crusaders who like to criticise, villainize and slander absolutely everything do with the running of Salford City Reds.

| Re: Vievers' comments - I like the cut of his jib.
I'm currently placing all my faith in Andrew Dixon being a hitherto undiscovered world-class goal-kicking fullback / centre (left or right) / stand off / scrum half. Or all of the above...

| Butcher and redshed - you seem to just attack the people who make comments you don't like instead of saying anything about the issues.
It's nothing to do with being a keyboard warrior or a cretin, try opening your eyes to the state of our club.
Butcher, I recall you saying a couple of weeks ago that reports were that Moon had turned down an offer from Leeds to stay with Salford you wondered what the doom mongers what have to say about it. Well now he's left and as a doom monger and I can assure you it's not looking good!

Just a bit of pedantry - it is libel if it is written down and published, slander when done by the spoken word!
I think on reflection my original post was done much more in sadness than anger. The move to Barton was such an opportunity, much was done right in that we recruited better than we had for a good few seasons previously, but I think the past caught up with us - the Macrae wasted years, the Parrish fiasco etc.
When there should have been all effort going into building a sound foundation it seemed things were being put in place on shifting sands.

That's because I've lost count of the number of times I've asked a question in responce to a posters issue and it's been conveniently ignored, choosing to play the 'beach boy' get out card instead. And if you care to check earlier in this thread I did offer my views on this subject.

I agree with your original post on this thread.
The whole Barton move has been such a fiasco it's unreal. Hopefully, we survive this period and have a total sort out at the club, although I won't hold my breath.
As for Moon - he saw what a joke the club is and wisely wanted anyway. I don't blame him for one second. Strange how other clubs don't seem to have players in open revolt and constantly wanting away. Must be how well run we are.

But those of us who attempt to be constructive about this issue actually provide points for the debate, it just seems easy for some to look at this as if there's two sides: pro and anti club, when in reality, some of us are in the middle trying to promote a healthy debate on how things are going.
I'm still struggling to understand you reply to me, by the way. On the one hand you agree with me that a player is more likely to leave Salford, along with the lack of success and uncertainty around the future, for Leeds, a successful club with stability. On the other hand, you feel that's a poor excuse to point fingers at the way in which we're currently being run. Your "point" about my argument being more understandable if he'd gone to Cas or London is barmy, particularly as I talked about him getting a better offer at a =#FF0000successful club.
By the way, BartonFlyer is talking a lot of sense on this thread.

Fair enough but I think there were a few factors working against the club. Firstly I believe all the red tape, delays and pressure to deliver the new stadium for both the supporters and the rugby league eventually backed the club into a corner with the clock ticking loudly.
Obviously the club had to settle for something less appealing than the original concept due to the economic climate and lack of finances to have a stake in it. Let's not forget the original vision of the board to go it alone for our clubs benefit prompting Peel to threaten to legally challenge the development.
Following this the only way forward was the council to intervene with Red City allowing Peel to invest in a 50% stake. Following more red tape and delays the company was then rocked by the unfortunate news of an investor having his assets frozen leaving the project nowhere. The only option left was for the company to be wound up with our club directors in no financial position to invest more money in the project. This subsequently then left the door widely open for the big boys Peel to take it over and acquire the surrounding development land.
There’s a much bigger picture here that I don’t think some supporters fully grasp. Peel is a huge player and they have used our club in my opinion for their own strategic benefits. It’s very easy to point the finger and say a certain person should be ashamed but I can’t see how he or others could have prevented it.

I think 'Attack' is a little strong. I welcome informed debate, with the emphasis on informed. I have no problem with anyone who has the opposite view of myself. I do have a problem with people who just say the same tripe in every post regardless of the topic. My eyes are open to the mess we are in, I just see little point in venting emotional ramblings based on little evidence, which is what a lot of people on here do.
As for Moon, as much of a blow as it is to lose him, I'd rather have someone who wants to play for us than a talented baby who can't get his own way. We'll undoubtedly miss his ability but not his attitude. On a personal level, any player from a 'bottom-half' Club offered a three year deal at the current SL Champions would be stupid to turn it down. Good luck to him.

| Talk about Rats deserting a sinking ship
or the current directors, asset stripping, before they let the good ship SCR sink
It cannot be good for any new investors to see all assets disappearing
what kind of a team are we going to have ? perhaps we can borrow some players from Swinton
Only bright side, Admission prices will have to be reduced to watch the bottom of league SCR, or there will be no one watching
Worst pre season I have ever experienced in 57 years of following Salford
Seriously fear the worst

| I suppose on the flip side, Scoot, if our expectations are rock bottom (Mine certainly are) we can only be pleasantly surprised if by some miracle we do anything this coming season...

What would you say was Moon's primary reason for joining Leeds?
A, Opportunity to join the Superleague champions and bag a 3-year contract?
B, Get away from Salford at any cost because of the off field issues despite an imminent takeover?
