| Quote Early Bath="Early Bath"On a positive note Logan Tomkins had a blinder.
Credit to Harris already as we played with deeper lines and our defence was in the oppo`s faces much quicker.
Pulatea & Tasi outstanding tonight but Meli still a concern.'"
Tompkins was brilliant, hock gets better and better, and as ive said before meli does some great stuff but could do so much more.

| Harris made the right call to drop Theo. Can we all please remember that Theo is a 19 year old half back, not a hooker. It's a credit to the kid that he can play so well in an alternative position but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Continuing to play Theo at 9 will do him much more harm than good in the long run.
Plus, Tomkins had an outstanding debut.
Ps - how many points should we have scored last night? Once we become much more clinical, someone is going to be on the end of a good hiding.

| What is it with fans on this site and Fages?!?! He is not ready for SL yet, does he have potential? Yes but not now. He needs to improve on his distribution, kicking game and needs to beef up. At the moment, he off plays off the cuff, no structure, he's raw but his game will improve the more mature he becomes. I stint in the championship would do him world of good. The obsession with Fages and meant for me the better prospect Sneyd has gone unnoticed as is now proving his worth at Cas. Sneyd brings a lot more in my opinion and I hope we tie him down on a long term contact. I do think Theo has done a decent job as an impact hooker but he gets targeted to easy. For me we should not of even brought Logan in when the only natural hooker we have is allowed out on loan?
It's cringeworthy to people knocking Harris after one game cos he dropped the blue eyed boy!

I agree with the sentiment. Harris can pick whoever he likes as long as we win. All this "endearing himself to the Salford public" stuff from Lou Kate was as you say, cringe-worthy.

Spot on, especially when it's the right thing to do too.

| Just watched the highlights again and have got to say that Rangi Chase's reverse pass for the last try is one of the best bits of skill I've seen in many years.
We do need to improve our defensive intensity, especially out wide. Tomkins had a good game too. Would like to see him make a more permanent move at some point.

| I thought Tomkins was very good when he came on, plenty of scooting and yards around dummy half which is something we've been missing this season. Once again Rangi was on a different level, everything we do comes off him and if we're to make the 8 then its imperative he stays fit. Hock and Tasi also ran very hard and made good ground forward.
My only concern us the amount of points we're leaking, we need to tighten it up and quickly.

| I thought our defence was much improved, with very few missed tackles. Where we seem to be a bit lacking is in scrambling defence, particularly when an opposition move goes all wrong and they start throwing the ball about in panic. We seem to panic with them. The first try and the Elliot Kear try were examples of this, particularly the Kear one. Why did Meli come chasing infield after him? It was like an Ealing comedy with an old policeman trying to chase some young kid. And where did the rest of the defence go?
Logan Tomkins was outstanding, and I hope this loan deal is with a view to a permanent move. Lots of pace around dummy half, and he always kept the defence guessing. MoM, though, was probably Rangi. That pass for Meli's try was completely unnecessary and completely brilliant. A real highlight. Tim Smith also had his best game for a while, as did quite a few players (Tony Puletua being another).

| I think Puletua had quietly gone about his business well and for this season alone has come in for some unfair stick at time. I have been happy with the majority of his performances, does the hard yards well and leaves the attention grabbing stuff to the others.

| I was really impressed with Junior S'au last night. His attacking style is explosive when he is near the try line. Will only get better as the season progresses and he gains full fitness.

| One disappointment again was Tim Smith, I know he is trying but he really needs to cut out the errors and concentrate on his passing skills, he tends to put his teammates under unnecessary pressure with his short passes which are more often than not resulting in a knock on.

| Just goes to show that the posters on this thread must have been watching at least 6 different games as the opinions voiced were so contrary to each other. Little wonder that as spectators we make crap coaches. Let Harris get on with the job he is paid for and put our trust in him. There is a long way to go to get the team in order but I for one am happy to let Iestyn get on with it.
