Imagine Hock and Mozza in our pack next season? When either wasn't suspended or injured that would be some power there.

Hock signed for the Eels in April for the 2014 season so why would we chase a player who is off to Oz and we would not only convince him to stay here over the NRL but i suspect pay a large transfer fee for? This year he is on loan to Widnes until November so if we did bid for him would it be for just 6 months and would be the point of that?

We're buying Hock out of his Parramatta contract that he had already signed, apparently.

He hasn't SIGNED with Parramatta as his current contract with Wigan hasn't ran out yet, he's just given them a pre contractual agreement which isn't worth the imaginary paper it's not written on.

Lads here in Wigan are all saying he hasn't officially signed with them yet just a pre contact agreement. Wigan will want more than what parra are offering in terms of transfer fee too as they don't want to strengthen any other team in SL with their best players.

You can't have a contract with two different teams at the Same time. He can only sign a new contract with parramatta when his Wigan one is up. He's signed a pre contractual agreement that's all.

I am quite surprised at the response to rumour,this time from Australia but backed by twitter exchanges in this country.

I am a little concerned at what the 'personal issues' may be.

It would seem from the announcement from Wigan last month that they had first option on Hock,despite the speculation surrounding his relationship with Mr Wane.

It does seem Brian Noble is a great admirer of Hock for his playing ability.

This is one where I'll have to see a picture of him in the Manchester Evening Comic stood on the pitch at Barton in a Salford shirt with the Doc stood there grinning at his coup.



Said it elsewhere but think of the marketing slant when we're changing names back to the Red Devils and a barm pot on the pitch like Hock, it's an absolute dream for anyone with even a modicum of business acumen.

Reading the articles of his signing for Parra they all mention large transfer fees so doubt Wigan will be bothered who pays them as long as they get the max out of them. Could be a ploy by Hocks management to say to Parra look we have a new offer of this much see if you better or match it.



As has also been said I'd be worried when you read about 'personal issues', let's hope none of them start out in the foothills of Columbia.

Must be scary money you're offering him and especially if you're willing to pay the Wigan and now Parra fee.



But as a player he really is worth any money you can put up for him! Even if as we are finding now he's out of the 'elite' he does get dealt with 'differently' by the disciplinary panel.

I don't understand why you think that we'd be paying 2 fees, 1 to Parra and 1 to Wigan. Parra will have/ be paying Wigan a certain fee as part of the deal for 2014 they struck with them at the time. We'll be paying Parra as we'll have struck a deal with them, also for 2014 and presumably for more money at a later time. Even if the money has yet to change hands, Parra are liable, under contract, to pay Wigan the agreed fee just as Salford will be liable, under contract to pay Parra the fee they agreed. We will only pay one fee, it will just be larger than the original fee negotiated between Parra and Wigan. There will be no financial transaction taking place between Wigan and Salford. Remember, Nobby has some history here, remember how Micky Higham ended up at Wigan and Terry Newton at Bradford?
