Same old chestnut aye,Lets ask you what you would do?

I'm not the one constantly carping about poor management/marketing.



You're obviously an expert at picking out bad practice, so surely you should be able to outline a little good practice.



It doesn't have to be detailed, just give me five or six bullet points outlining practical/achievable ways that marketing and management can be improved.

See that's not fair, your not allowed to give the serial detracters on here a chance to give us hard facts or truths, what they want a forum to just constantly harpe on and take side swipes at people.



I agree for you that it's a pleasurable experience at the new ground and see that yes there are realisitically isses to be sorted out about the venue and some of the decision making in the background but I'd take that rather than lower division rugby in a ground that is falling to pieces and with the financial difficulties the variety centre has suffered little or no onsite facilities other than a woman squeezing cans into plastic pots for us to drink.

Can you give me say,erm,20 or 30 years to get my head round it?

And there was me thinking you had all the answers.

Unfortunately it looks like there is no realistic plan its probably along the line of hope that we get further investment sometime in the future who isn't related with sale sharks and if we do have doesn't have their interest above ours

Crazy bonkers plan sack everyone, install alker as coach / chairman, rip the seats up in the east stand and play on Sunday.

No answers just highlights problems

It doesnt matter what i would do,its just the same old chestnut time after time.When anybody of the dinosaurs answer these people all we get back is ,where do you get the money from,it goes on and on.Yet the first thing i would do is to bring back the junior devils,fans for the future. 2nd,i would take a serious look at getting closer ties to the amateur clubs in the area.3rd,i would target areas around Salford maybe on a 2 or 3wk blitz on where by a players,staff and supporters actually knocked on doors and gave half price tickets to the families,sold lottery tickets and so on.Scrap the bus from the willows and put it on the precinct,put one on in Broughton,ordsall,and get it out there that its happening.Get in the schools,colleges and uni`s,not just the odd training session but getting them to their local amateur clubs.Make the people of Salford aware we exist,tell them we are one of the greatest teams not only in England but Europe and one of the finest stadiums in the country,right on their doorstep.

There are a number of very good ideas in there, many of which I share.

Thank you,but in all honesty it doesnt matter what we think is it ,its the people in their positions who call the tune.I would go even further but thats for another time.Salford need a new broom to sweep the apathy out,god if you ran a club for 30 years with the same people in charge winning nothing,achieving nothing,going backwards all the time until another get me out of jail card turns up now and again.London the Catalans and even Sheffield have been to Wembley in the past 15 yrs,where have we been,fookink Blackpool.Thats why the people of Salford don`t turn up,its a joke,their e,never win out.Who`s fault is that?Not yours not mine.

Up til Tony Smith's arrival, Warrington had achieved very little in the past 15-20 years either, yet their crowds have consistently and significantly outstripped ours; it was a similar story at Leeds too prior to Gary Hetherington/Graham Murray's arrival



It isn't as simple as fielding a winning team.



The difference between places like Leeds and Warrington and Salford is that there's a living, breathing rugby league culture. We could be top of the super league and selling season tickets for a pittance but it wouldn't necessarily enable us to draw significantly higher crowds than we're already getting (just look at Huddersfield!).



Our issues aren't as simple on some people in here would like to make out and neither are the solutions.
