A lot of the Tomkins abuse seems to claim that he tried to kick a player in the head. Seriously, no matter how much you hate him, does the replay look like that was the intention? It's so obviously just a desperate lunge to stop a try being scored using what is, quite admittedly an illegal method ( tbh, at the time I didn't even know it was illegal to do that, seen plenty tries not given due to a leg under the ball ). It wasn't 'studs up' or malicious, just daft, so criticize, yes, but keep a sense of perspective. Hock's another matter....

I feel the same way. He was simply trying to stop the try and it was a reflex action. The injury to Jon Clarke's head had occurred some time before and Sam's boot was nowhere near. As Yed says Hock is an entirely different matter. I would also be looking at Lima for the cowardly hair pull and the elbow in Matt King's face.

The Morley trip, the Louis Anderson grapple tackle and the Matt King punching and elbowing Lima for no reason other than him tackling him.

Yes he didn't hurt Clarke but the point is he could have. It was a reckless lunge which easily could have seen a boot to the head/face for clarke - it WAS dangerous and Clarke was lucky not to be injured by it.

The Morley thing was an error as he was off balance and Silverwood recognised that. No grapple from Louis, and would he retaliate if someone tackled you by the hair and then elbowed you in the face? My wife knows little about RL, but she watched the replay of the second half last night and thought Wigan were a load of thugs.

If you watch the King Lima incident , King is being tackled and Lima sticks the shoulder in and King doesn't like it so elbows Lima in the face which promts Lima to scrag his hair leading to King punching and elbowing Lima on the floor.
