I reckon I'm the only one on here who picked Menzies.

I wouldn't have personally picked him but at the same time can't really argue with the selection. Manu or Hoffman can't have been far off but there's a lot of decent 2nd rowers about.

The right choice at hooker I see.

If Steve Menzies was an unknown french kid at the start of the season who played for Catalan in the second row there is no way on earth he would have made the dream team. There on reputation and standing within the game rather than 2011 performances.

Has a player ever been MOS but not in the dream team?

Is the inclusion of Menzies an honour to a truly fine player, or a sad reflection on the other back rows playing in SL? I would say it's the former.

Age is just a number isn't it, on the occasions I've seen Catalans this year he's been fantastic, the game against Bradford on SKY stands out when Ferriol got his marching orders.



They've taken plenty of big scalps this year and have played without Bosc all year, his leadership will have been invaluable.
