Its a tough one to call for me. They have recruited in the pack well but gilmour was always a good player in a good squad, will he be able to be a good player in the huddersfield squad?



They were sound defensively last year but my issue is can they maintain it? new players generally means new ideas/time to gel.



For some reason i just cant see them doing as well as last season. I believe Bradford, Hull FC & Catalans will all improve, so where does this leave huddersfield? I just cant call it this year. will be closer than ever this year!

The CC final seemed to be a bit of a watershed for them. Huddersfield had won their games by quick, compact defence. We seemed to expose them in that game, then other teams followed suit.



Biggest obstacle is Brown bringing more new tricks from Oz.

I see Hudds in top 6, I think Mc Nally will get a shot and maybe improve them in the Halves I dont think they have the quality to challenge for the big titles. I think Brown got found out tactically in the final having said that he fully deserved to be coach of the year.

One trick in defence was cruelly exposed by one Lee Briers kick at Wembley, and they never looked half as cocky in defence again all season. They were the epitome of the "solid" game, five drives and a kick and decent defence, but I always thought they were lacking in brilliance (Brett "knock-on king" Hodgson wasn't nearly as good as people would have you believe).

By "other teams" do you just mean Catalans, because they were the only team to beat them in the rest of the season apart from Saints, who hardly need to uncover a tactical secret to win a game.



What do you reckon our watershed game was, I reckon Saints at home, we'd been going ok under Tony Smith until that point but Saints showed teams how we could be beaten, which is why our last 8 league games we had a record of won 2 (against the mighty Salford and Harlequins), lost 6.



Of course it was because we were hungover from the Cup final.....begs the question though, how come Saints usually start winning again in the league after they win at Wembley, but Wire have to go to pieces even when we only needed a handful of wins to get into the playoffs!

im expecting leeds, saints, us, wigan and bradford to all finish above huddersfield this season..and probably catalan as well.



I do not think they will repeat last seasons success.

Why are people on here saying that we are a better team than Huddersfield? Huddersfield got where they were last year on merit and you cant fault them for that.



Basically superleague is of distinctinctly average standard, with the exception of Leeds, who'll cake-walk the title. Every other team, except Celtic are more than capable of beating each other. I'd expect Huddersfield to still finish above Warrington in 4th/5th position, but that's only because other teams will improve, notably Bradford and Castleford.

Leeds didn't 'cake-walk' the title by any means, were showed up by a few 'average' sides throughout the season, and had a close-run thing with Saints again. Huddersfield were very good in 2009, maybe over-reliant on the 'umbrella' defence and the quick inside-ball from 7 or 9 to Hodgson ( of another runner ). If opposition defences can stop this, and find their way wide ( as did Wire at Wembley ) Hudds will have a tougher time of it.

Waffle all you want,i think you will do as well has you did last year?,and the Giants will be as good if not better than last year.

Any confirmation of where our away match with Catalans is being held yet?

and I bet we don't win a trophy...
