Shocking refereeing today. Fair enough bin Riley but how didn't Hodgson get binned when we had an identical break and Hodgson jumped on top of Hicks - Smith gave the penalty but just had a word!!

I had no problem with Smith's stance on the Riley decision, if he deemed it a professional foul, fair enough. Whether it's the first minute or last it shouldn't matter. It's the inconsistency that grates somewhat. You'd expect inconsistency from official to official, not set of six to set of six.

I think Riley got sin binned on purpose to get out of the sun...ginger hair and fair skin, not good in this weather!

Riley raked the ball out. Or rather, he had hold of it when their guy tried to get up and the ball came loose and as Riley was the "Last man back" and was holding him down, he got 10 Minutes in the bin.



Spoke to him briefly after the game, he said he had no idea what happened, said he tackled him, went to stand up and the ball was loose and the officials saw it as a professional foul. He did add at the end that he enjoyed the 10 minutes rest in the bin.



I'm assuming the reason Hodgson didn't get Binned for a similar tackle was because the ball wasn't deemed "Stolen" like it was for Riley.
