| Stanmore tube station just off the motorway a massive car park, the tube takes about 15 minutes to Wembley park station on the Jubilee line then straight out on Wembley way. Getting away after is good as just of motorway and fast tube link you will be on the motorway before the traffic that parked at Wembley easily. We did it last year one tip is if it says full on the station car park don’t believe it run round with your car as it’s a con to try and make you pay to park at the back of flats the far side of the station.

Some people don't have that option

I agree, we got a B&B for £55 with free parking.
Rather than the hassle of paying for parking, the cost and pain in the getting there & getting back and then fighting traffic, it aint worth it, plus IF we win you miss the after match celebrations in London.
Overall for the sake of say an extra tenner, you may aswell stay over.

| I can recommend Brent Cross. The Bus Station is part of the Carpark and is a main terminus for all over London.

| I've done Stanmore before and is fine. You do have to be careful parking around the residential area. I've seen people get towed when in wrong place.
Green Man pub, right above Wembley is good. On the Hilton Hotel side. They charge a bit less than the official car park and there is a lot of room outside for beers and food. They usually get a bottle bar going so you don't have to queue inside. Have been doing barbi as well recently.
......only down side is it is a VERY big hill to treck back up to get to your car.
Just do the official car park now as my dad doesn't like the walk. Think it's about £27 to park but you are feet from the entrance and it's a good get away too.

| If people are using the Stanmore(Jubilee line) option i'd go down to the next station (Canons Park) use the Longcrofte road estate (it has parking restriction but only Mon-Fri) only an extra 5 minutes by car from Stanmore.

A day trip is nothing. I do it all the time driving up to the in-laws in Glasgow, and that's further than driving down to London. Once you get used to it, it doesn't affect you.

Hmmmm... you seem to have defeated your argument. "A day trip is nothing." - "Once you get used to it, it doesn't affect you"
Thats the point isn't it? I drive regularly as well. But my wife, who barely ever drives would find such a large amount of driving in a day difficult to say the least.
