Seriously, has this not been sorted yet??

Are people seriously suggesting that Wigan should build their own stadium, when they have a perfectly serviceable one at their disposal?



The scheduling of the Challenge Cup is at fault, to my mind. The first 'proper' round was on the same weekend as the FA Cup semi finals and the Grand National, now the quarter finals clash with the last weekend of the Premier League. In addition, I seem to recall this Super League season kicked off the same weekend as the Six Nations. I'm not saying the RFL should bow to other sports, but with all the moaning about media coverage that goes on, they hardly make it easy for themselves.

Why would you be surprised? We have more income streams than they do. They get nothing whatsoever from any events at the DW, and as they don't own it they can't rent it out.

Turnover isn't really relevant, profit is.

Wigan's income streams will change quite a bit in the next few years. Will it be profitable, IL thinks so, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And if they where playing in my garden I would let my dogs out hopefully there Tomkins toy comes in handy...

Your current problem is that this little spat about the cup match has done a fair bit of damage, with some of the usual idiots on your site talking of a cup boycott. IL has lost a bit of credibility here through no fault of his own. The only issue I would have with the matter is that there has been no communication with the supporters, the draw isn't even mentioned on the official Wigan site, never mind the venue. If they want to make more money they will have to improve their communication skills. Interesting to see that Leeds are subsidising transport to Leigh for their match. Maybe Wigan should do the same to whatever venue their QF match is held.
