I am guessing as they are telling people with it not to go out at all that it is believed it would spread pretty quickly - I missed the game on Saturday primarily because I wasn't well enough to go but also because I wasn't allowed to go out.



The way it is spreading now shows how quickly it can be passed on.

Some of the symptoms are different to those of "normal" flu and it seems they are the ones they look for mainly when diagnosing it. My point was its probably not something to panic about in the way that the media were making out when it first was being spoken about (that said I wouldn't want it again and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I wouldn't "normal" flu either!)

According to the statistics it is no worse, indeed has much has much lesser symptoms, and much lower mortality rate, than seasonal influenza.



Having said that I hope anyone affected has a swift recovery.

two people i work with had it. One absolutely fine no worse than normal flu. The other one still in intensive care.



the key thing appears to be the temperauture if you have a really high temperature and cannot get it down or have breathing difficulties get urgent medical attention.

Don't want to belittle what is obviously a serious situation, but all this panic being peddled in the media is absolute golddust to the 'Jeremy Kyle' section of society, who seem to thrive on any little crumb of hysteria.



To put things in perspective, there is a flu bug going around, which has the potential to affect around half of us.....The same thing happens every winter, though because we have given this one a funny name, we are choosing to react like we are being struck down with some apocolyptic nightmare-style disease.



Get well soon all those who are truly affected, but living with somebody who works in the NHS, I can assure you that plenty of supposed cases are nothing more than hypochondriacs with a touch of the sniffles, who just insist on making the NHS's already difficult job an impossible one.

I don't believe in swine flu, its all a load of overhype by the press. They said everyone was gonna get bird flu and it never happened.
