My personal favourite is Ardbeg Uigeadail (I think tho there as been many others tha thave struck my palate more favourably at times) Laphroaig 10 yo and quarter cask are my normal drink due to financial restraints. but that matters not when I was working 3 of us purhased a Laphroaig 40 yo and beleive me it was too mild

I thought I may as well after reading up on it and it was on offer at Morrisons. That's this month's purchase complete!

john7420. I've bought a few bottles of Ardbeg over the years, but just the bog standard one (if Ardbeg can be described as bog standard) ..awesome stuff, but imo (as I've said previously), you can't go wrong with Islay's...apart from Bowmore, which for some reason I just can't take too.



For anyone that's interested, Morrison's have got Old Pulteney, Aberlour, Balvenie and Taliosker on offer, at the mo



And another piece of advice...any of you who shop in Lidl, avoid Glen Moray...not that good (imo)

No Ardbg is bog standard! The only Islay I'm not to keen on is the Bunnahabhain, IF you ever get a chance to sample Bowmore Bordeaux wine cask you may change your mind, but I agree bowmore distilled after late 70s have been a bit mediocre.

£50'ish to spend on one bottle as a present and £25'ish on another what's the recommendations. I haven't a clue and don't drink whisky.

I've recently started to appreciate and really enjoy single malts. Just bought the Jura Superstition, on offer in Sainsbury's at £20. Lovely stuff, and probably most enjoyable I've had so far.



I've noticed that Sainsbury's seem to constantly have different selections on offer. Can see myself stocking up in the next few weeks.

Just tried Monkey Shoulder a 3 malt from the best Speyside Distilleries. Excellent whiskey, trouble it doesn't,t stay on the shelves for long.....about £23 a bottle.

just bought some Aberlour 10 year old single malt, going to have some later, anyone tried it? Sorry if it's already been mentioned not read all the thread.
