I don't see how it can be, simply on the basis of the number of players who play in the reserves week in wek out, then step up & make an immediate impact. See Penny, Ainscough, Wheeler, Ashurst, Tomkins, Watkins and on and on ...



I didn't go yesterday, a friend did, he didn't think it was the best game in the world, and it was the worst he'd seen the reserves this year, but I think it was more of a 'bad day at the office' rather than the standard being cack. In SL, we'd say it's good to win when you're not at your best, and they continue to lead the reserve league.

The 15 has potential but his positional sense is not quite there, very green. A few people at the game said the same, he has size and could be good with time. But was caught out a few times......The team hadn't played for 3 weeks and looked a little rusty as one would expect, but if you can win when you aren't playing your best rugby then there is a sign of things to come.



Watched the 18's before hand and they did well, thought the prop crowley had a great game .

Think he needs to bulk up a bit mind, looks like bambi with those legs!

Pah, you're only top because you've won more games, scored more points and have a better points difference.

I read that the Saints reserves didn't play there best rugby in the last game. Coaches stated the 3 week break will have contributed to that. So I think you have to realise that any team will not play champagne rugby everyweek, but will sometimes just grind out a win. I think this reserve team is one of the best ones I have seen for sometime. They win with style some weeks and win ugly others but thats what good teams do. Look at Saints, sometimes there games are spectacular sometimes they just win. I think there is alot of talent in our junior ranks now and I hope they realise thier potential and we see more of our home grown players making it in the first team.

When is their next game?

The next game is Salford away on the 9th of May. Followed by Hull away on the 16th May. Then the big game Wigan at home 23rd May.
