Admission £2 adults £1 Children. The organisers have worked hard to get interest in this famous local competition back up and running for the good of the town. Lot's of local businesses and people have invested to sponsor it. Hopefully people will turn out to support all the games.

Cracking first game.

Hilton Park won by about 14 points after being 22-4ish down at half time. Simon Svabic, Dave Bradbury and Paul Anderson among others rolled back the years to pull it back.

Game two is being played on Sunday at Leigh Miners with a 2pm kick off.

Plenty of positive reaction coming from people who went last night in the owd taxi, great game plenty of atmosphere on the ground and the Miners was packed afterwards.
Onwards and upwards for the Shaw Cup as it gains momentum come on you leythers you have nowt else to do and there are plenty of old centurions pulling the boots on for this worthy cause, and also breathing a bit of fresh air into the local amatuer scene .

Hoping to get down tomorrow to watch the nephew, young glow was also called playing but he can't tomorrow he's going watching Cortina's

, probably a good job that they aren't playing together, last time they did that for East U18's, they both broke their arm.

Another cracking game tonight with the Centurian edging strongly fancied Foundry 24-23 .
Rugby league is alive and kicking in the town .
Both semi finals should be cracking games ,well done to all concerned.

Enjoyable game tonight, could have gone either way, Tim Hartley kicking a conversion from off the touch line with a minute or so to go, to claim victory for The Centurion.
