I want to know why is Gateshead classed as a development area?

Rugby League was played in Newscastle in the 20's, same TBH about Wales were there not at least one RU club that broke away when the Northern Union was started?

I do wonder with all this fuss being made about the colourful language at the Gateshead game whether they may be the first club to have converted Rugby Union fans who are, on the whole, rather more middle class and therefore more easily offended by the odd rude word.

Probably because people see it predominately as a Yorkshire/Lancashire game. Personally I don't care, we don't live in a dictatorship and as such we shouldn't be forcing Rugby League on people especially at the expense of already established fans and clubs.

Well I,m upper class and have come to terms with bad language. I would prefer not to hear too much of it but I put up with it and don,t dwell on it. I am a lot more disgusted by random violence and idiotic behaviour as in the West Ham v Millwall game.
