| We all remember Turleys attacking displays but it was largly against poor opposition.
The guy had bags of talent for sure, a superb player, but he never had the chance to consistantly prove himself to the level that Hogan and Johnson did, so the Jury is out on this one for me.

| wasn't Turley the 1st if not the only player from outside the superleague to play for Lanc's when they tried to get the war of the roses back up and running?

| Turley was a real talisman for you guys.
Around the same time we had a guy at full-back called Craig Lingard playing for us, who was just as (if not more?) proflific than Turks and played in what was a pretty average team during his time at Batley. I think Craig scored something like 130 tries for us in 160 appearances.
Linners never really got the praise and credit he deserved, unlike Turley.
Great player though Turley, bet he'd still be playing and scoring for fun now if he'd not picked up his injury

| Turley was good but didn't play at a high level for long enough to be considered GREAT.

Anyone who scored as many points as N. Turley did in his short career
is special no matter what level of RL they play at he was a points machine
Mick Nanyn is the same absolute brill when it comes to point scoring
Turley in my opinion is the best full back ive ever seen at Leigh and ive been watching them since 63 Dave Eck was good as was C . Johnson but Turley was a very special player and a great pity is career was cut short
some of the trys he scored for Leigh where outstanding and he had a habit of scoring trys when we had our backs to the wall, it will be a long time before we see someone as good as N Turley in a Num 1 shirt here at Leigh

Make no mistake I was a big fan of Turley but for he to be voted in to a Leigh dream team ahead of full back who all whilst playing for Leigh was regarded as one of the greatest of his generation, played full back in a GB side that won the World cup final, toured Australia with GB, helped Leigh to major domestic success, to countless final appearances and who previous to that had signed for the club for a then world record fee no less...
Is I would say comical in the extreme
