I think contracts normally run to 30 November? If so, maybe nothing can be announced until after that date. Mind you, most of our squad were awarded extended contracts beyond November 2015. In that case, surely nothing could be announced until any such players had negotiated a release from their contract, or have fixed up an alternative one elsewhere?



As for suggestions that there could still be salary cap issues, didn't our owner announce, that there are no longer any such issues, with the increase in the SC upper limit?

I was told about Platt and Pala by an ex Leigh player ,who is still close to the Club,and the news about Sarsy was told to me by someone who knows him,he told me about Sarsy the same time he mentioned Haggs leaving.

Shame that - I thought he was highly promising. However, I can't see us guaranteeing him the opportunities, in the near future.

A snippet from one of the RL papers this morning is that an announcement is due from the RFL and Leigh Centurions re:Michael Platt.

It was originally announced that he was out on loan, but fair to say the club could've handled it better.



The press release about scrapping the reserves was posted on facebook, which included a line to say that he was going out on loan for the year. The player himself commented to say it was the first he'd heard of it!

Suppose he's another one of those young players who could be a really good player in the future but the club as a whole is improving quicker than he is. Does he want to stay with Leigh, go out on loan every year then risk still not being good enough when he peaks or is his career better served going out and joining a team where he can play 1st team every week and prove himself with someone else. I don't blame any of these young fringe players for going, they've got to do what's best for themselves & I wish them all the best.

It's a club decision same as Haggerty and Sarsfield leaving , with regards to improving not 1 player would improve in the poor reserve grade of last year, in hindsight Leigh could of and imo should have played Jamie and Lewis Foster , Corey Lee , Frankie Halton etc in some of the games the Leigh easily won and rested some of the more experienced players for the middlle 8's, I feel for all the young kids who will probably never get a chance at the club
