Quote SaBadSel="SaBadSel"So should Leigh get 1st spot at then end of this season what would we expect from signings and structure to compete with a relegated superleague club ( most probably full time ) and with a £750,000 parachute payment?'"
London coming down with 750k with no crowds realistically outside SL and reduced commercial opportunities as well as historic debt round their necks will IMO struggle to compete with us a traditional RL club operating on 550k in the RL heartlands and a RL hotbed with a strong board putting in cash, continued increased commercial activity and a progressive ambitious mentality which we now have.
Bradford will also struggle IMO and they will be carrying forward debt and dealing with financial issues still in 2015 as well as dealing with the negativity and fall out of this year ahead.
Finishing top this year will most almost certainly mean we will operate a full time squad of our own for 2015 and kick on for the middle eight and SL.
We've demonstrated our credentials both professionally and financially as a club to the RFL both face to face and by submitting copies of our fully compressive business development and strategic growth plans. While it's still relatively early days for us as a BOD we've shown while we are building towards a long term vision engaging the whole community we are not afraid to back our coach and add quality and depth to the squad and if Paul needs to strengthen any areas of his team we have the ability to do it. We will as a club always operate within a strict budget set by our Finance Director at all times but we will strengthen and be ready for 2015 rest assured and would expect some of the signatures to raise more than a few eyebrows going into 2015
One thing our last visit to SL did it taught harsh lessons and lessons clubs like Fev haven't yet tasted. We have people within our boardroom and environment who are better and stronger as people and businessmen for those experiences and this gives us a wealth of knowledge and experience as a group to compliment the energy and excitement that the new BOD has brought along not to mention a wealth of knowledge of all business aspects that will only see us as a club continue to get stronger and take this great club we all love forwards at the pace we have shown in the first nine months of our tenure.
Exciting times and if people continue to embrace it and numbers and bums on seats can increase we can achieve what many used to believe would never be seen again a successful top flight Leigh RL Club!!!!
Sunday is more than just the start of a new season it's the start of a new era.
