Surely this shows why Home clubs should be looking at providing free/cheap travel to away fans in the championship



All it needs is a leap of faith by one club , or an agreement between 2 to reciprocate the idea

To trial the idea perhaps part the Co-op TV money should be for away supporters coaches?

I suggested as such to keighley last season as both their games with dewsbury were thursday TV games , it was discussed but dropped at the last minute

Any reason given?

Would need the home club to, as has been said, take a leap of faith as it'd mean extra away supporters rather than 400 of potentially their own supporters. Certainly shows the potential of cheap travel, though doing it every week might see the novelty wear off for some.

Probably just fear of actually helping another club slightly more than helping yourself



We tried something similar with barrow a couple of years ago , they were fine with us paying for their fans to travel , but pulled a face when they were asked to do the same for ours

Why ? , what difference would it make , you can still give out the home freebies



What is lacking at most matches ? , atmosphere , remember those 20 odd loonies from Swinton singing in the rain bare chested a few years back , they made the game that day , we need away fans , that is why ' derby ' matches are the most looked forward to

But if the Co-Op money is used for paying for the away fans' travel, then the funds aren't there to give out the freebies? Not saying that I disagree with you, as you well know from when we've talked about previously, but trying to look at it from the clubs' (or more to the point accountant's) point of view.
