I am glad we didn't draw any of those sides, however, we can beat anyone in this comp on our day. I just don't want fans and players thinking we have an easy passage through the comp with what the draw has thrown up.



Hunslet will be in the same frame of mind we are, they've defeated a strong Halifax side and performed well in this competition all season and they will fancy their chances of going even further in the competition with a home draw and the other fixtures that have been drawn.

Don't think anyone will think it's an easy passage i would hope they wouldn't anyway, but if we play to our potential we should be ok i think.

Wonder what would have happened if we had been drawn at home? Or, if we get through and are drawn at home in the S/F?

Why though Fred ? , I just dont understand why this is neccessary , is this going to continue every season ? , if it is then whats the point in playing at the LSV ? , we are supposedly the reason it was built , they know we play in summer , not having regular matches at our most profitable time of the year will hold back the club from any momentum , if next season Saints ,W1g4n or Salford want to use it in summer , will they be allowed

Service, just like when you buy a new car, you have seen the state of the pitch? Simon Toon's the man to answer those questions not I, me not having 'green fingers' but my grass doesnt tend to grow well in Winter.

It may well be to do with the under soil and the foundations of the pitch bedding down. This could take a few years. We cant have a pitch with a slope or a dip in the middle can we at our lovely new ground.

DW piedome relaid their pitch t'other week after more Footy complaints and were back on it a fortnight later so I can't see a problem really , but we are on about the LSV here so owt could happen

Premiership football teams seem to relay their pitches and play on them soon afterwards. LSV actually took off the top surface and re-seeded it last year. (in addition to allowing the existing roots to grow through) That's bound to take longer, I suppose. Years ago, I was shown what Bury did at Gigg Lane. (albeit in the Summer - much to Swinton's delight!) They re-turfed the pitch, with turfs about 10 inches deep. That seemed a pretty solid base to be able to play on fairly quickly.

So if/when we get through to next round it will be away regardless being drawn out 1st, i'm not playing

And they will have to do the same next season as well. Just hope it doesn't become a similar annual tradition at the LSV.

It loks that way Matt, thats where the limited number of games played on the pitch came from not from the LSV management who appear to be getting the 'blame' when they are guided by the 'pitch company'.
