I think the problem when the RFL awards a 'promotion' in the middle of the season based on off field reasoning (in the majority) it sparks a lot of negative discussion right across the board.

Inevitably (on the positive) it will also spark some interest for the Widnes fans who havn't been for years so its swings and roundabouts.



The good thing about this cup match is that it does mean [isomething [/ias the loser doesn't get rewarded , you quickly forget all the petty politics and point scoring which franchising has brought to the game and remember what sport and RL is supposed to be about.
