so am i reading this right.....if you make the 8, you play 4 games all at home against the 4 SL clubs coming down ? then the top 4 teams after those games play SL the following season ???

so in theory 4 champ teams could be promoted or all 4 SL clubs could just return to SL1 ??

No it's only two up, two down. But it's not. The thing is it will take a monumental effort for any Championship club to be one of the top 4 of the middle eight. That is how I see it. The top four of the middle eight go to 2016 SL.

OK from the official info I have read



8 teams = 7 games (play all others once)

Championship teams all get 4 home games (2 SL teams and 2 Champ teams)

Top 3 after the 7 games go into SL for 2016

4th placed team plays 5th placed team for the 4th position



Now to me that seems simple but to all the VTers it seems it makes their brains hurt (and their cosy little safe SL world fall down around their ears)

Still cant see any of the championship teams competing when the SL team will have double our salary cap plus a parachute payment !

Plus 5 overseas players compared to our leagues 1.

in 2015, once the league has been divided up from 2 x 12 into 3 x 8 we could see the two current superleague teams due to be relegated plus four other current supleague teams. That is unless the 2 relegated side fall into oblivion.



This then only leaves space for two championship sides in 2015 if the relegated SL sides come top of their 12.

So is this how it could look? and yes Leigh bias because its my spread sheet haha

Well Charlie predicts a long season for Swinton , Barrow , Rochdale , Keighley ,and North Wales , in whatever order you want .Its harsh but someone has to in the bottom 5 .

Going to be hard for a Championship club to make it but I don't think as hard as it looks on first sight. Franchising as bad as its been for Championship clubs has really caused those bottom few SL clubs to stagnate, I don't think the gap is anywhere near as big as (from the advantages they've had in SL) it should be. Seeing Championship V Super League games the main difference between the 2 sides isn't usually skill but pace and fitness and that just comes from being full time, with the extra money for the top Championship teams that advantage will diminish.

So should Leigh get 1st spot at then end of this season what would we expect from signings and structure to compete with a relegated superleague club ( most probably full time ) and with a £750,000 parachute payment?
