| Quote hudders789="hudders789"ok so i meant 12, but most people would realise what i meant, i am also a follower of footie so simple mistake! and before i get the anti football brigade i have been a giants fan for over 20 years and only follow football, Giants are my team, but to go back to my original point, devoid of various attacking ideas is mainly down to the coach. ad lib ideas are onfield but the attacking plays that are pre planned are not good enough at the moment even if we execute them pefectly, they are seen a mile off so keep saying that the players are at fault but the buck stops with anderson, who i think has done a great job but he cant take us any further and his ideas have been found out as he doesnt seem to have a plan B!'"
So you are saying if we had thrown and caught passes/kicks correctly we still wouldn't have scored?

| Wow, some pretty out there views based on the back of a game against last years champions (who are 2nd in the table now), in awful conditions. Granted, were not playing Harlem globetrotter stuff at the minute, but were far from as bad as some are making out on here. Our defence at times was outstanding in that game. We got numbers in, took them on down the middle, when we jumped the line we invariably judged it right and they rarely got a roll on. Now, I don't think this is a vintage saints side overall , but their pack is top drawer. And we stood up big time.
Personally I think we have improved overall performance from last year. We were powderpuff at times last year, where packs were just slicing through us. That has changed. Attack wise we are still struggling. But sacking baloo now? No chance. We have no divine right to be up there. Win a few and were right back in it . Let's not forget also, that defence is coached also; structure, tactics , ethos. If not more than attack. Baloo deserves credit for this.
Today, I though most of the chances that we bombed were poor execution of the right idea, and the final kick or pass marginally missing its target, as opposed to aimlessly off loading or outright panicking when within touching distance of the try line. Particularly first half when we were actually trying to build pressure rather than score every set. Again, this was an improvement from the very start of this season and last season.
Maybe I'm a glass Half fuller, and I admit we do need to improve our attacking plays, but sack baloo now? No. Review at end of season, but stick with the big man now.

| I kind of agree that sacking him now isn't going to help matters but I totally understand the frustration. Alas, for me, the issue is leadership on the pitch. A calming influence when the tension rises and things come to a head.
Brough is a great player, no doubt, but he is no captain. We don't have that sort of player though. If we did, well, we wouldn't be where we are in the league at the moment.
We are one player short of a great, great team.

| A leader of men. A Sinfield, O'Loughlin type.
This is not a sleight on Brough. There are very few players out there of that ilk.
We look to Brough though because Anderson has put him up there and we have absolutely no one else that is ready or willing to step up.
I'd like to see Bailey given more of a leadership role personally because he has something about him IMO but Anderson doesn't seem to have him solidly in the first team picture which he needs to be to be considered for the role.

| Sacking the coach? Abit over the top isn't it.
We are only a few points away from the top 4.
Our defence is fantastic even if we are doing too much of it.
Our players are working as a unit which shows our coach is leading a settled camp.
Players have been rotated and players have been given a chance.
This comment comes on the back of 3 defeats. Salford (our bogey team), Hull KR away (who are on fire) and the champions.
Before that we smashed Warrington away and got that monkey off our backs.
All we need to do is hold onto the ball and gain momentum. It's already proven our skill in attack is there if we do that.
Let's just get behind the coach and team and play our part.

| I think that broughs captaincy is now getting in the way. If Eorl was an 80 minute player we could give it him as he has a lot of respect and is known for being level headed by the refs. - unfortunately it won't work for 20 mins a half.
Folk won't like this- but I'd give Grix the captaincy. He has great game vision, he is well respected for his hard work ethic throughout the club, and he's calm.

| Grix goes into his shell when it gets tough. If he drops a ball early doors then he's pretty much dead set to have a bad game full stop. Same with a hit up; if he takes a big hit he won't run it up the rest of the game.
We need someone who reacts differently than that. Someone who drops a ball but shakes it off, claps his hands and smashes straight back.
I think it's worth saying that today, when we did drop ball, we generally backed up the person who dropped it. That is a good reflection of where we are defensively and we are defending great for a side who spends 60%+ of a game doing it. But without the ball we won't score and we are so out of touch of having that ball it is telling in attack.

I get what you mean- but Perhaps with the responsibility he wouldn't. Brough took on the captaincy well initially- now I think it's hindering the team and his game. So if not grix who then Danril?
