Is there anything more delusional than a Wakey fan?

Sources tell me the newly named Golden Brown, formerly known as Nathan Brown, is trying his best to secure the services of someone even more delusional than a Wakefield fan. At the moment he is not prepared to name him as the deal is not yet signed and he wants to keep thing close to his bosom until the ink has dried, so to speak.

The news items on the Wakefield website indicates that he is certainly on his way. He could go at the end of the year for nothing, but it may be to someone other than you. That puts a premium on him from your side of things. If we let him go now, we lose 21 rounds of our sides linchpin when we could otherwise force him to play. That means that we require an additional premium.



The only question is what we are offered to make it worth giving up those 21 rounds of Danny Brough, and how much little extra you are prepared to add to guarantee his services. Your bargaining chip is that if Danny is guaranteed a contract with you to start next year, he is hardly likely to bust a gut for us, as he is no longer in the shop window. Whatever is decided, it will be one that all three sides are happy with, ie, Hudderfield, Wakefield and Danny Brough.



Like with all things, players come and go and we move on. We did better after Solomona, losing Newton was a major loss but I've forgotten about him already, and Danny Brough will no longer matter after Easter.

The benefit Wakey get is rid of a player that sees no future with them who wont really want to play until the last 3 or 4 rounds when his contract is up for grabs for free



the benefit the giants get is, er, not a lot. A trouble making player with a good kicking game...

I get the impression that some Huddersfield fans are that delusional that they actually believe that we are letting him go for nothing! He his a very important player and could be the difference between a play off place or not. If you want him you'll have to pay for him it's that simple. What ever you offer it will after be an offer that is beneficial to Wakey. Ted Richardson is a very shrewd man uncle Ken won't get the better of him in that department!

He has not had a future with us for a while, we have offered numerous deals that he will not sign, was always likely to leave at the end of the year. That has not stopped us playing him, nor has it stopped him playing well!

It's a gamble for all parties. We would probably get the best out of Brough for the rest of the year because he would be in the shop window, and every good game potentially increases his value, and he could potentially change his mind. But if he's set on going, cash in.

The announcement on the Wakefield club website doesn't mention an illegal approach. Would you care to elaborate or kindly STFU?
