| Come on guys lets get some perspective, did we not win today ??........yes the performance was poor but coming back from the heat of the South of France it was always gonna be tough. Yes its an excuse not a reason for our performance but its always good to find ways of winning when you don't play well and earlier in the season we would have lost.
As for the players , it didn't take long for the Simpson honeymoon to be over, one of the posters called him naïve, well news to you mate he is and learning all the time and the vast majority was calling for his inclusion and he has one dodgy performance and that's him consigned back to the U19's. Lets get behind the lad and the team and start supporting on and off the field, yes I appreciate everyone has their opinion but we shouldn't be crucifying our youngsters (that goes for Leeming and Connor as well)

| Agree....i can't believe that after all the hype around Jared people are having a go at a 19 year old kid in only his 5th game !! he had a bad game and made mistakes ?? so blooming what, he will have lots of bad games and make lot of mistakes - even the worlds greatest who have been at the top for years still do ....let's support the kid ( and all the other players) rather than putting them down and criticising every bad thing they do !!! they are humas not robots, Jared Simpson is a superb prospect and will only improve for us, 1 bad game and 'fans' are on his back already !!!! some days i despair at our fans i really do !!

| I agree Daz, BUT i don't think anyone is in Simpsons back are they? Just recognising that as a young learning player he has weaknesses that need addressing or better teams than Wakefield will exploit them. I'm sure he, his team mates and coaches are aware of that. The way he came into the scene he has a lot of hype to live up to and I think he was trying too hard today.

| It appears to me that all the people who have a go at other people making a scapegoat out of Grix are doing exactly the same with Simpson!!
And eating humble pie because Cudjoe had better game. Give it a rest! Yes, he did have a decent game, but in highlighting the fact, goes to show that he hasn't been playing at the top of his game recently. I hope it continues.
And the atmosphere was shocking - even worse than normal in the top tier.
And what happened with Big G and his drum in the first half. It looked like someone told him to clear off!!

| I am not having a go at Simpson. He is bound to have ups and downs and is a great talent. What frustrates me is people are ready to have a go at Grix for the slightest mistake. Simpson is classed as the new Messiah after 4 games. The fact that teams have now had a chance to look at his strengths and weaknesses always meant life would get harder for him and I am sure he will learn and improve. However Grix needs to play in the big games coming in the next few weeks.

Why must Grix play???
If they see Simpson as the future number 1 then surely he must play. The experiences will bring his development on ten fold.
Grix has never done anything in a so called big game.

Anderson has already shown he's not prepared to risk a trophy at the expense of developing a player- that was clear when Grix played in the last two. It's his risk to take.
As for your last sentence- why don't we just play the 19s ..... Seeing as no player done anything in the big games????

'"
Because he's a kid with five games under his belt. He's a year or two away from being the kind of regular professional that will be the first choice fb, and seven or eight years away from his peak.
When Sam Tomkins was Simpson's age he played in a Cup game against Whitehaven and scored five tries, then spent the rest of the season in Wigan's reserves.
Simpson is one for the future, but Grix should play in the big games coming up.

| Because in the big games you play your strongest team and Grix is our best fullback.

| Everybody has their opinions. Mine is that Simpson is the better option at full back.
Playing Grix or not playing Grix will not define whether we win a trophy or not. Playing Brough or not playing Brough will.
If we have players in the under 19s who are better than who we have playing 1st team then play them.
But as it stands there is probably only Simpson and Leeming who fit into that.
Simpson will have to play big game rugby at some point. Sooner the better if you ask me. Then next year we will not be having the same debate.
Like I said, it's all opinions. I'm not saying mines right. It's just how I feel.

| i don't like picking out individuals in a team performance unless they have had an absolute mare or put in some unbelievable world class performance.
what i will say though is that i do agree on both points regarding grix/simpson
simpson has played 5 games, he wasn't even a squad member a couple of months ago, so it's been a massive jump in quality/physicality and possibly mentality for him, he has the potential to be a very good player, let's not make him out to be some kind of superstar, let him develop naturally, physically, mentally and everything else..he has shown that he can step up if neccesary.....on the other hand, if you don't play him in the bigger games then how does he get the right attributes to become a SL regular? he won't get the intensity needed playing in the 19's every week.
grix on the other hand is battle scarred he's been around for years and is used to the quality, the physical and mental toughness that SL brings..although i don't think he should be the regular full back long term, he's still a good player to have around the squad, and players like simpson can only get better learning from players like grix.
both have different qualities, grix is usually fairly solid, unlike simpson who looks to have more flair about him, i'm sure the coaches know who is the right man to take us into the business end of the season, personally i will support whoever is picked.

Playing Grix or not playing Grix absolutely could define if we win the grand final or not.
