Surely we need to get a new coach in place before signing anyone, either new players or extensions to existing contracts. I realise there's an urgency to snap people up before rivals do so, but there's not much sense in signing players a new coach might not fancy. As so often with our club, there seems to be a feeling of inertia.

Lets give whoever Our new coach is the chance to pick His own squad and style of play.

It would be fun, if we do a Crusaders and pick up half a side in January. There does not seem to be a rush does there? As they say at the Skolars "it's a long term plan".

The danger is that we cannot field any sort of competitive side next year. If we don't sign at least 3 new quality players we'll almost certainly finish bottom (a halfback/standoff, and 2 forwards), we probably need 5 new quality players to keep off the bottom (a halfback/standoff, 3 forwards and an outside back), and maybe 7 new quality players to start pushing towards the top end of the bottom six. Being serious I cannot see us even signing 3 new quality players, the best we can hope for is resigning some crap like Ward and Mills and maybe some SL rejects.
