damn, saw that 1 coming

shows at least they have some respect for us

So close and yet so far.

2 new purchases this year stopped a French trip, narrowboat and a puppy...Trish didn't fancy leaving the puppy in kennels so that stopped the trip. Spent the last 2 weeks on the boat which was nice (how many people take 2 weeks to get from Slough to Aylesbury and back.... I also wanted to watch the road race today,got back from near Tadworth about 1 hour ago... will be the first season we havn't gone to at least 1 away match.... still not going saved us about £1k



So, final score was 19-12... easily best away performance of the season...hope if anyone did go (including the Welsh boys and girls) they enjoyed it.

The french trip is a bit pricey. I personally think it's a bit over-rated though I would recommend to anyone that hasn't been.



Anyway, will be interesting to hear TR's thoughts on how they boys went. Surely must be an improvement on how we played them at home. OK, we know they had a few missing but we did too so I'm hopeful that today was a step in the right direction.

yep...we won't be the easybeats we have been for the rest of the season......Castleford, Salford and HKA are the games I have a new found enthusiasm for...we could yet claw ourselves off the floor

yeah, excellent performance from the Broncos - well disciplined and well organised as you would expect from Mr Rea but don't forget the Catalans side was much depleted so great praise to them I think plus the VR was dire yet again at the GB



Trent Robinson is going to file an official complaint - it's criminal what the the officials are doing to the french outfit !

Its par for the course for us. If it wasnt for the fact that we are so bad a team that even the biased refs decisions pale into insignificance compared to the teams inadequacies on the score.

Refs from the North will allways favour teams from the North even if its subconscious bias. The stats show this as fact over the season i am told(Clarkeyas well).

well you can be proud of the latest performance - the best team won but London did look a different side



the refs are as you say I believe - don't think it's cheating just some kind of in-built northern bias - the penalty stats for pens conceded by Toulouse during their 3 years in the Championship were alarming with something like three to one more pens conceded by the french and they were NOT a dirty team, certainly no more than the others



the french fans are convinced their is a conspiracy against them at Red Hall

i wonder how many teams fans would turn round and say the opposite! every team seems to think the officials are against em, half the time its coz they dont actually understand the rules. Looking forward to seeign what caused so much complaining though. Maybe TR should stop whinging, at least they have a vid ref at every home game! its not a sky game thats the only time any of the other teams get a vid ref.



Important thing from this result! It looks like we at least gave em a game, and we didnt ship 40 points!

Yes that is true. But that will balance itself out over a season in the same way that the French ref is equally as bad with both teams as they are all the same to him and has no real affinity with any of them.



But the stats show that when the Northern teams play us the Refs are not penalising their own fellow Northerners the same.

every fan complains about the ref - it's traditional ! it's always the refs fault...



but Catalans have a legitimate complaint - decisions have been shocking at the GB this season and the need to consult the VR at every opportunity is worrying as the aim of a ref should be to ask why the try shouldn't be awarded and NOT find a reason why it should as clearly shown by messers Thaler & Roby lately ! The VRs , who I believe to be squeaky clean btw are put in a situation where 95% of the calls are straightforward but when a contentious decision comes along it comes down to personal interpretation by the VR on the day



for any given borderline decision if you ask 10 VRs to make a judgement half would probably award the try and the other half refuse it - it all comes down to the criteria ie. either find a reason not to give it or finda reason why it should be given which seems to be the case at the GB
