The RFL made a rule in 2004 that photo agencies cannot sell pictures of professional players unless for press usage. Images before 2004 are excluded from this.
If you want images of a particular player you can contact their club
I asked all the Super League clubs for pictures in 2005 for college work. I recieved quite a few by email a couple of clubs said that you can get them on the clubs official website. Wigan was the only club to send pictures by post to me
