1970........Was Bill Francis centre then??

Pretty certain Peter Rowe was left centre and Francis left wing.



Right wing was Keri Jones - right centre i think was either Cliff Hill or Kevin O'Loughlin.



Full back Colin Tyrer - until Keith Hepworth broke his jaw after 20 minutes! Along with the Saints 66 and Widnes 84 finals, not a good start to my Wembley experiences. Made up for it in 85 and 88-95, though!

David Hill was stand off with Frankie Parr at scrum half.

The sub (only one then) was Cliff Hill who replaced fullback Colin Tyrer after that dirty little Keith Hepworth broke Tyrers jaw with the worst off the ball tackle I have ever seen.

should have remembered...it was my first Wembley.....but i dont remember the game....i was p!$$ed

How old were you then? It was my 2nd Wembley and I wasn't pi55ed - but I was only 11!

It was my third Wembley, but the earliest that I remember clearly.



I seem to remember that Sash had the game of his life, for little reward.



For some reason though, I found 1984 much more disappointing, possibly because we'd gone there on such a tide of confidence and yet were never really in it.
