* Bombs going off.

* Maggie Thatcher.

* Football hooliganism.

* Communist country threatening to nuke us all.

* Wigan give Leigh a thumping.

And the start of an 8-in-a row cup run...

Had a few scoops in town, first time since Chaps and King's int 80's for a big town it ain't a guiding star - we are smaller and worse but pull the chest in chaps the pride is limited.

and you'd have gone down again a few years back if you hadn't cheated

Still, 99 per cent on this board think rugby league was only invented in 1988

Whereas in Leigh it always feels like 1988, you were pretty crap then from what I remember. Wait for it you will now have a deluge of leythers telling us how they won the cup in 1921 & 1971 and how they were champions in 1982. How's it go again now ..... "Your just a bus stop in Wigan" or even better " a back street in Wigan"

By then we'd already won 10 league titles, 9 Challenge Cups, a WCC, 19 Lancashire Cups, 3 League Cups and a Premiership.



Even with their current run included, the 10 league titles is 1 more than Leeds.



Dreadful record really.
