I would like to put forward a suggestion that at our next home game shown on sky as a crowd we all stand up on the fourth minute and give our support with the AJJ salute for one minute.

Nothing. I just thought I'd imagined it.

Spoke with Jack's dad today. Told him what I was trying to do and he asked if we could also do it against saints too.

Why the 4th minute?

Jack's age I presume.

Yes Jack is four. Just thought if we did it in the big one then more people would be aware of it for the saints game that's all.

I'm all for All Join Jack, have donated money and will continue to watch with interest. The whole scenario is heartbreaking.



But - I'm sure I'm not the only supporter who doesn't feel comfortable with public salute-making.



It's getting to the point where if we don't join our fingers up, then we are assumed to not support the cause, which isn't true. By all means if you want to do the salute, then of course you must do it, but I don't think it's fair to effectively COMPEL everyone to do it, especially those who choose to support the cause in other ways.

There will be a lot of people at those games who will be unaware of what is going on. If they don't stand then it may appear a little "divided"

Too right. Then you get some smart shouting "stand up you miserable sod", the atmosphere goes sour, and everyone forgets what you're supposed to be doing this for. I don't like the idea.



The AJJ salute, and the cause itself, will get much more media and public attention if sports stars and celebrities continue doing it wherever there is a camera - as happens now - than a load of unknowns at a rugby ground. Public awareness is doing fine as it is, I reckon.

If you were going to do it at a match, the only way to go about it would be to let everybody know. That means leaflets at the stadium, something in the programme, announcements etc.



Might be easier to do it just before kick off as well. Get all the players and officials etc in a line like a national anthem and ask everyone to join them. That way noone can really miss it.



That and the picture of an entire stadium standing and doing it would surely promote quite well, especially if you get a few of the celebs involved and reitred players there doing it. Would be a great showcase for the cause.
