Mini Rogues, Maguire has just been assistant coach in the team who has just won the NRL! Bellamy said that he played a massive role in the success of Melbourne for a few years, you can tell by the way Melbourne play that he is clearly doing something right as he was in charge of the backs! Not to mention that Wayne Bennett rates him as the next best coach! All this and you call him a second rate aussie

In your ill thought out logic, you fail to consider that every coach that becomes a first team coach has prior to their appointment learned their coaching ropes as an assistant or in a lower grade. Was Wayne Bennett 'second rate' until he coached a first team? You may have just used poor English to illustrate that he is unproven as a first team coach, but knowing the s[ihi[/ite you talk regularly I'm not prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt

People had doubts about Nobby after three and a half years of indifferent peformances. You have doubts about Maguire before he's even arrived!!!

Alright then, let's wait until the end of next season at least to see if anythings changed. If we have improved then I'll take it all back and be the first to admit I was wrong. I however don't see how people can get so excited about an assistant coach taking over who has never had 1st team coaching experience, that's all.

Maguire has been at the fulcrum of the Melbourne Storm success story for several years. On numerous occasions, he's had charge of the first team. Brisbane were after him, and we beat them off. He's highly rated by all the top coaches in Aus, including Bellamy, Bennett, etc. He's a keen student of the most modern and innovative NRL techniques.



I appreciate that some Wiganers feel a compulsion to be born skeptics, but there are times when you simply have to come down from inside your own anus and look at the real picture, not one that you've invented in order to maintain your self-image.
