| Quote Ron="Ron"His stats aren't that impressive..... we need forwards with a bit of x factor at international level, and he doesn't put in big shots, doesn't offload and doesn't make huge metres, good against average SL teams but nothing special.'"
We don't need forwards with a bit of X-Factor at international level. We have a couple of those in Burgess/Crabtree. We need solid, go forward props who won't take a step back in defence and will punch their weight in attack. Look at Petero, most consistent prop over the last however many years, runs the ball in hard, tackles hard, over and over again.

not really
why should the opinion of some daft wire fan, who hasn't seen him in as many games as the rest of us, matter even in the slightest?
he's joint 1st in this forums wigan's player of the season from the 1/2/3's, and will be 1st after the calculations are done for the castleford game... that's in a team that is the best team in the league. nothing more needs to be said
that a good enough argument for you? now as i said, go play with traffic

| Some ludicrous comments on this thread. Mossop is an immense talent - he's already a top class British player, whether he can make the step up and become truly world class remains to be seen, but he has so much potential and is years away from his physical peak.

| Mossop's been consistently good during the season in his first year in the position. Imagine what he'll be like when he changes his body shape to that of a prop and has a number of year's experience in the position.

| Some of the posts by some fans about Harrison have been harsh.
He averages more tackles than Mossop, has made more offloads and has made more tackle breaks. Harrisons work rate is exceptional, he always wins the tackle in defence and is good at slowing the play the ball down. I think Mossop is a slightly better player than Harrison but calling him useless and can't play anywhere is quite simply not true. I'd have Harrison at 13 for England, theres no point in having a ball playing L/F against the Aussies as the only way we can beat them is by having bigger forwards and dominating them. This is what id have.

What about O'Loughlin? He is a million times the player Harrison is/will ever be.

Did you watch any of this years' State Of Origin series? There's no way we can dominate an Aussie pack. We can match them certainly but even with a 100% fit set of forwards we won't domionate the likes of Matt Scott, Paul Gallen, Beau Scott and Sam Thaiday. We need to be creative if we're going to have any chance of beating them, which won't happen with McBanana in cahrge but that's another issue altogether

| creative...., so forwards that can offload would help, rules Mossop out.... maybe Paul Wood should be given a go, has better stats than Mossop this year and has nearly 10 times as many offloads.

Knowing McNamara, he's more likely to select Rex Mossop and Victoria Wood.

Just because Mossop doesn't offload playing for Wigan doesn't mean he can't offload. Joel Tomkins, Ryan Hoffman, Paul Prescott, Andy Coley etc etc are all very good offloaders but don't offload much when playing for Wigan. It's just Wigan's style of play.
Stats also mean little when comparing players from two different teams. Different amounts of game time, different hookers, different playing styles in teams, completely different team performances or performances from opposing teams means that stats aren't accurate.
