| its obvious non-wigan fans will laugh and mock our optimism and celebrations after last nights' game. thats the nature of the fan base and its the best thing about the game apart from the actual game! if we'd have lost by 22-4 or more, then the leeds fans would have declared they are "back" after a good win against the current champions and would have been jumping through hoops. yet now the dust has settled, they are suddenly declaring their own team mediocre in attempt to dampen the wigan fans who are rightly happy at the end of the day to come away with the point despite the fact for the best part of the game they were the getting beaten by the better team - very confusing
from a wigan point of view, with 20 mins to go we knew we had time on the clock but it just didn't look like we had anything to offer. all of a sudden we turned the game on its head, so forgive us for celebrating a good moral-boosting comeback like a win.
from a leeds point of view, well they could have gone away with a top draw win but didn't have enough gas in the end. IMO it was a point dropped from their camp.
the point we gained may as well be a bonus point, as we shouldn't have got a draw but deserved it through our character and determination, albeit it was left a little bit too late!
sams bottle to bang over that kick despite missing two and having a below standard game on the whole (still never an FB IMO) was superb and well done to him - i didn't think he'd make it to be honest.
and i had darrell goulding as last try - grrrrr prescott!

So Warrington aren't "peaking to early" then? Only thats all we got from Leeds fans on here all last season.

Ah! So on the evidence of 1 game played in March you have already crowned Warrington champions come October? I suppose you wrote yourselves off during the seasons that you started badly yet took out the Grand Final against a Saints team who had outperformed you througout the rest of the season? Thought not...

Yes.
We were well ahead and should have won. Though, to be fair, our opposition that day played quite a bit better than Leeds's opposition played last night.

| Quote FearTheVee="FearTheVee"Those celebrations were nothing compared to the Wigan fans at the end, and at least they (thought they) were celebrating a win against the champions rather than a draw against a team making their worst start to the season for many, many years . . . .
Great game though, thoroughly enjoyed it.'"

I love this mass of activity we've suddenly seen from you on our board this morning. Last night's result really got to you, didn't it.

Correct - IIRC we were given jip walking out of Cardiff by Saints, Wire, Leeds fans that we had lost a point. All celebrating like a final had been won and Wigan had lost. Yet Wigan do the same and it's poor form????

Too true.
Why not be happy when rivals get beat? If we win next week and wire lose then I will be chuffed because we will have pulled it back a little.

I think to be honest, it was the length and style of the celebrations which have caused the raised eyebrows.
Personally, I can fully understand the elation of coming back from so far behind, against a good Leeds side, and the initial celebrations are fully warranted....I must admit though, that the continued celebrations for several minutes after the equalising kick did look a little OTT.
Countering that though, sport can bring out people's emotions in a funny way, can't it?

| Best thread for a while this. Utter crap from some supporters who wants to come on here and knock Wigan fans. If any supporter from any team would not be happy to come from 18 points down with 15 minutes to go then your either Victor Meldrew or Dot Cotton. Yes we thought We would win but we got a going over by a good Leeds performance, added to that we were crap. And please do remember were still 5th with a game in hand on Saints, as with Leeds have 4-5 first choice players yet to come into the team. What last night showed was that we are the fittest team in SL. And come October when every game is played with more intensity will suite us. As with last seasons play offs we got better with each game. No trophy in SL is handed out in March or April.
