Don't know why so many people are that negative about this signing.



The reality is that it is harder than ever to lure world class southern hemisphere players to this country, so the issue of using up a quota spot isn't as big an issue for me as it seems to be for others. It will be a while before we can sign another Hoff!



As long as we aren't paying this guy too much I don't think it's too much to ask for people to put their faith in SW. One thing's for sure, he's not a man who tolerates a low work ethic, so he must think that Lauaki has it in him to work hard and improve, so I'm more than happy giving this signing the benefit of the doubt for now.

I know Rovers considered a move for him (as a replacement for Newts) but that whole scenario revolved around Joel Clinton.



If he has been signed to play 2nd row then he will be an asset.



The thing about his time at FC was Agar played him down the middle, when really he has the same qualities as Willie Manu. Lauaki is a very skilful forward who imo lacked confidence. Maybe that was a product of the negativity that has reigned at FC in recent years. I am sure Shane will bring out the best in him.

I can name you at least 15 props id have in the SL dream team before O Meley. Considering he's an ex Australian international that has played state of origin, I cant say I have even noticed him at all last season, I cant remember him having a good game. You must have been even poorer than I thought if he stood out for you.

Omeley has been better value than Fitzgibbon in my book and seeing as we see him week in week out we are in a better postion to see how he is....how many times you seen him?...as for being poor...jesus...anyone would have been poor with Agar in charge.

Including Lauaki, Wigan have obviously seen potential in Lauaki or we wouldn't have signed him, we dont tend to sign mediocre players anymore.



From what I have seen of Hull, to say Fitzgibbon hasn't been as good as O Meley seems very, very strange.

O'Meley is quality, I'd take him in the dream team for sure

So your saying last season, he's been better than Carvell, Morley, Mossop, Griffin, Peacock, Wood, Prescott, Graham. Dont be stupid.

If you coach him right,and play him out wide and not as prop then you could have a good player on your hands...he just goes missing in matches and Agars handling of players was bizarre to say the least.



Just my view....i never really got it with Fitz.He was played out of position for a start,was never spelled and all play slowed down when he was 1st reciever.It was a privelege to see 1 of the modern day legends play for us but think he could have been better.

All about opinions isnt it on here.I only see wigan when on telly but dont rate Mcllorum at all but maybe you lot do.

Neither do I, but dont say that on here, you'll have certain posters in tears.

He's certainly been on par,if not better than these players.What some people don't realise is that Mark played with a niggling injury for the final 2 months and was constantly given treatment/injections,just to see him through till the end of the season.



As for Lauaki,we had great expectations of him,especially after he put Leon Pryce on his backside at saints,en-route to his try in the 1st game of 2010,but unfortunately,he seems to have 1 good game in 5.His attack can be explosive at times,but his defence lets him down.
