| Quote Soupy="Soupy"We need to use some guerilla marketing, but time is always the limiting factor.'"
that cant be done
The club dont even have staff to issue tickets to supporters just 4 days before the kick off to the new season
Im not having a go at anyone at the club because I know they all work hard
But simply how can you market something, show a proffessional outlook to potential fans with the limitations in people power at the club
Like I say its not a dig. Its a reality and that will always hold teams like keighley back short term and long term in a time frame aspect

| Without sounding too much like " We the committee " Would it be worth trying to get some sort of group together to promote things like season tickets , As many people as possible meet once a fortnight or month somewhere pretty central and distribute advertising posters etc etc to everyone - who could then put them up in shops . works notice boards etc ???? I am sure the club would provide stuff for people to circulate to advertise forthcoming events / promotions. It would basically be free for the club with the exception of producing the posters / leaflets.
I struggle to get about but could cover shops & pubs etc in Burley in wharfedale. Anyone else ?

You only posted it today. Give people a chance to read it and think about it.
You would also need some feedback from the club.
Have you contacted them yet with your idea?

| Oooooops , that wouldn't delete when I realised how short a time my post had been up.
And no , I haven't contacted the club , I am still waiting for a return phone call from them after I phoned them about 3 weeks ago about a fundraising idea I had for matchdays , I offered to Finance it , sell it on the day and give all profit to the club for the squadbuilder . All they had to do was phone me to ok it and give permission for me to do it. It would have made the club anything up to £75 - £100 every home match without having to do a thing , not a massive amount , but not to be sniffed at in this economic climate.

The event that killed the voluntary support for Keighley Cougars was the persecution, by the club, of Keighley Independant Supporters Association (KISA). It was nothing short of disgraceful.
I know we now have a different board, and people should move on, but i don't think they understand the strength of ill feeling that still exists amongst former KISA members. I was at the first meeting in the function room above the Vic - it was packed to the rafters with people wanting to help. These people would have raised tens of thousands of pounds for the club and raised the profile in the area, instead they were seen as a threat and an enemy and the board went to extreme measure to kill them off.
A good few of those people still go to matches but I think the club would need to do a good "repair job" to get them interested in voluntary support again.
Very sad, but true.

Dont forget this didn't happen once.
I was part of the second group of people who wanted to help.
What happened to the then chairman was also nothing short of disgraceful.

Ok people , Fair do's ....It wasn't my intention to upset anyone , I do remember all the previous problems and was just seeing if anyone wanted to help , from your replies I have my answer and fair enough....people have long memories and will only be s**t on once , I understand and totally agree with everything you all say.

Maybe some of us work 40-50 hours plus a week and don't have time to do the club's job for them? Speaking for myself, by the end of Thursday I'll have worked 20 out of the last 25 days. My free time is too valuable I'm afraid.'"
Good man stealth , can't knock a grafter !
I used to do that and more up to 3 years ago when a kind lorry driver ploughed his lorry into me
