| A good leader doesn't need an armband to inspire others. If it ain't broken why mess with it

| No need to change it. Morrison was excellent yesterday, but you don’t have to be captain to encourage and praise your colleagues. Demetriou has the respect of the players and has put his body on the line for the cause.
I’m sure Morrison, with all his experience, took on the mantel of captain whilst Demetriou was off the field but (like in football and all the furore over that this past week) the captain isn’t as essential as it is in Cricket, and it also helps to have 3-4 leaders on the pitch.

| I think he would make a great captain and I too noticed his encouragement of all players around him.
However I would prefer to keep jd and have him as 2nd in command if you like and another strong voice on the pitch. I am against replacing existing captains with new signings as I believe it bad for moral.
I could never undrstand when monty betham was made captain over jd. Players should price themselves at a new club and understand all it's wats of working before being made captain IMO.

| I think JD does a grand job and is an inspiration.
Admittedly though Tesco is great at rewarding and recognising efforts by the team during a match, as mentioned above. After the match when I spoke with him I told him that he was a great "morale boost" for the team with the way he lifts and gears up the team; he seemed to appreciate my comments. I would encourage others to say the same to him so that he keeps it going (I'm sure he will anyway).

| Theres a lot of shouts for JD to stay as captain and a lot of shouts for morrison to be the captain too....personally im of the opinion that there should be one captain, supported by senior/experiend players. However...wigan now have 5 (i think) captains who lead the team. what does everyone think of this? its a novel idea and puts responsibility on more people which i think improves their game, however....too many cooks and all that......

| It was clear last season, following the tragic deaths of Adam and Leon, that the club operated a (for want of a better phrase) 'council of elders' within which JD held seniority. Morrison was inspirational yesterday on the pitch and was charming off it. He is a big hit with my lads already after meeting him after the final whistle. I don't however think this leads to him needing to be captain.
As has been said there are noisy captains and quiet captains, some lead with a word, some with an action. JD is doing something right or else we would not have got through last year.

| Agree that Morrision should be there when JD goes off, which he's bound to do now and again - even if it is only for 30secs whlist Johnson comes on!
Thought JD was a bit quieter yesterday than in previous games. Guess the old guy may take a bit of getting going!!!

I thought JD went well yesterday, an improvement on Hunslet and Quins match, Broke a few tackles, was solid in defence and created a try.
