Dont go down Denby Dale Road today if you can help it! Or go on Thornes Lane. You cant go under the bridge at the M1 junction towards Wakefield and the Railway bridge near Thornes Park has about 2 foot of water on the road, yet traffic is still going through! Havent been on westgate but that sounds just as bad (Millions spent on floods defences?) Take care out there!

Not much can be done when a months worth of rain falls within a 12 hour period.

Denby Dale Road is closed but the bottom of Westgate has been reopened.

Denby Dale road shut westbound (away from town) at red kite and eastbound (towards town) at Kingfisher calder grove, roundabout at Jnct 39 M1 denbydale closed on North side so if you come off heading north you cannot get in to town and cannot go up denby dale road towards hudds as flooded infront of cedar court.

Its got some flooding to do to reach our front door.Whats it like down Agbrigg by the railway bridge as last time we had it like this that was under water.

Just come through from Dewsbury to Wakefield. Took over an hour.



Combined with rush hour and heavy rain plus lights on Dewsbury road not going green for 4 sequences (10 minutes) was a long trip.

Its been horrid driving all day and only half of its down to the rain, stupid drivers are the main problem, if you want to go somewhere set off in good time and if you put your lights on it may help others.



Dumb people should not drive cars.

I drive a bus and am surprised how many drivers don't have their lights on, oh ok maybe not surprised
