Just been talking to my mate who lives in dewsbury , well he's only my mate cos he can get me cheap uv lamps. but anyway he reckons that dewsbury and wakefield are looking at merging next year and playing out of the rams stadium.

I doubt there is any truth in it, however it would probably be one of the most rational mergers in history. Dewsbury have a Stadium that is virtually in Wakefield and is ripe for further development - but will never have the supporter base or financial clout to make it in SL. Wakefield have a big fan base and better long term finance and playing strength. IMO it could work if done right.

all the negativity, and downright stupidity, that i've seen on this board wouldn't be half as daft had we won a couple of games in the last month.



to be honest it's hard not to be down given:



cas are seeing candidates for their coaching position

salford are signing players and sponsorship deals

harlequins and crusaders are signing players

our juniors/young talent are jumping ship



negative stance; it all points to the cat being out of the bag imo.

positive stance; people are getting ahead of themselves

I was born in Dewsbury and the Stadium location is very neutral. Count me in AG!

if we're in the championship we should stay at bv and push on for newmarket. if we move to dewsbury we'll lose more supporters still. i'm not giving the merger a microsecond of thought as it's silly, but we could probably rent the ground at dewsbury for less than we're paying for bv, but i think we'd be out of pocket given reduced attendances.

Not a merger, but a stadium share in the championship for a couple of years.
