| Today at County Hall the LDF hearing was reviewing the issue of B8 allocation within the district.
It was accepted that the sites were all Greenbelt.
There was discussion about the choice of site, with the main contender being (ironically) Trinity Farm at J32 (the corner off the roundabout at GH with the containers on it. This site is owned by GMI and their man made an argument that this was better than NM. WMDC however contend that the roundabout is at full capacity - certainly on Saturdays - and hence they believe NM to be better - that and the fact that there is live proposal for NM with significant potential benefit to the district.
For the inspector to change the proposal, and effectively reject the work of WMDC, there would have to be an overwhelming argument - none was brought forward this morning.
Our agent 'Armadillo' was there to ensure that we were represented!
It's just another day; just another meeting, but today could be highly significant in the overall battle to get NM approved and built.
Here's hoping!

| The only reason GMI think Trinity Farm is better than Newmarket is that they own it. Hopefully the Inspector can see through this and she will already know that Wakefield MDC think that Newmarket is the better site or they would not have propsed it in the LDF.
Glasshoughton suffers with traffic problems due to the succes of Xscape and the Factory Outlets so major improvements would be required to the infrastructure.
Hopefully the LDF will be approved as proposed by Wakefield MDC which will be good news for Newmarket.

| My indigestion problems may begin to ease as the year progresses as long as we get a positive outcome.
In fact my wife says she is to write to Pickles pleading with him to end her misery.

They made no attempt to hide this fact and at times joked about it. However the WMDC was asked to give his reason why he chose Newmarket over Cas and he was very good. The inspector clearly understood what they were up to.

| Is it GMI who paid for the independent planning consultants mentioned on here a few weeks back, with a view of promoting this other land as an option?

Its probably more important than that. A successful outcome would help the PI outcome greatly, a negative result and I feel it will be a pointer as to which way the PI will go. Its vital for Newmarket that the inspector agrees with the councils proposals.

TRB's just being coy. We all know how important the LDF is to NM.
Well done to all involved.
And for the record I've been very impressed with our council & the case they've put forward throughout the LDF & NM PI. I most certainly wouldn't have thought I'd hold that opinion 12 months ago.

| Sounds very positive news best place in district for the development and if the LDF goes our way coupled with today's news of the declining economy it's looking positive for Newmarket & Wakefield

| If I have to keep my fingers crossed much longer, I'm going to end up with a permanent clawed hand.
Good news, but not sufficiently conclusive to un-cross!

Bren - The good news will be if the inspector agrees with W40A inclusion. If that happens it will have a massive influence on the Newmarket planning result in terms of the B8 (Don't forget the stadium etc will still be on Greenbelt even then) and I may have to revise my odds I gave I_A of 50/50.
IMHO If the LDF outcome is positive then no Wakey fan can say a word against WMDC again. They will have done everything in their powers to secure NM.
