Think both parties have done well out of this relationship over the years. We have had a loyal, sometimes brilliant (if a little under acheiving) player who appeared a good representative of the club and all round genuine bloke, he got a nice wedge that allowed him to look after his family the best way he could and (I would imagine) plenty of support.



Time to move on though, new arrangement probably benefits both too.

Some top quality kicks also especially the 40/20 that bounced out about 2 inch from the corner flag, he didn't have a brilliant game but then who'd expect him when he's not even spent 24 hours with his team mates.

Agreed. Posted pretty much the same on the Barrow match thread too. If he had the form he had at the start of last season when he played alongside Brough, he would definitely be in, for mine. Seems those who are in a position to judge him better see it differently, though, and they should know.

They have better players signing for them next year from Sl Accademy teams this year.



I have no doubt he will play the season out at Barrow then go to Union, in truth though he struggled playing for Wakefield RUFC and could not get a game so i think regaardless of the 10 week purple patch he once had his pro career is at an end, and he made the best of it.

Was talking to a Fev player last night and he reckons Barrow have offered Rooney a 2 year full time contract on more than what he was on with us!

More fool them. Their backer must have deep pockets if true.

I could believe that Barrow offered Rooney more than we were prepared to offer him for a new contract, but more than he's currently on? Never.

More then he was on spread over the two years I could imagine (£45K a year?).
