Think thats the problem Sue is getting the armchair fans back & those who just sit in our local pubs/clubs & watch Sky,So a price reduction wouldn't go amis i think

Who's moaning Wildycat ??
Just stating the obvious - like acko said if we dont reduce the entrance fee then the floating supporters wont come back - simple as that.
Like ive said in a different thread there are at least 6 mates of mine who wont come at £20 a ticket. They are the 'floating' fans we're talking about. They look out for Wakeys results and come to the odd game against Cas, Leeds, Wigan etc but thats about it - and all have said that if they could get in for £10 it would make it so more appealing.
Maybe £20 to get into a shiny new stadium with top facilities would be okay but not BV - especially in Feb/March when its almost certain to be cold and viewtopic.php?f=33&t=421878 it down !
I would love to go to the Salford game and there be about 8000 there but I think we all know that wont happen 
Im sure AG and his staff are looking at ways to rectify this issue.

The one thing i will say about reducing prices is that we are better off having 6000 attending paying £20 each than 8000 paying £10 each. This may well be a crude way of putting it but the club has to get the balance right in order so we don't loose out on money.

Seems to me we are already giving the stay aways their next excuse for not actually coming to the games.
I wont go until Ted has gone.
I wont go while it's £20 to get in.
I wont go while Kear's in charge.
I wont go till we've got a new stadium.

As an outside looking in this is how i see it:
Mr Glover is a business man and yeah he went to a game sometime ago and enjoyed the experience and wanted to get involved, so he has ploughed some money in and hopes to live the dream of being a superleague club owner. However he doesn't have a bottomless pit of money and if the fans still don't turn up in numbers he will walk away he is a business man afterall and he hasn't built up a bank balance by backing a business that gives him nothing back in return- i aren't saying he is going to be taking anything out of the club but I can't imagine him pumping money in if the people of Wakefield just can't be bothered.
Its up to you the die hard fans to start bringing your friends along and the floating supporters and working with the club to put together some attractive deals to get bums on seats and feet on terraces.

Other way of looking at it is that the club reduces ticket prices permanently by 50% and set a target of increasing the average attendance by 50%. I don't think its unfeesible to assume Wakefield can do that with a new board and better marketing. Even if your gate only increases by 30% that means you have 30% more people potentially buying food and drink at matches, and if you can turn them into regular attenders, 30% more people to buy jerseys and other merch. |
