| Some very well known tunes here. I wonder if the royalties paid much?

| Quote vastman="vastman"I have no real issue with Jane, more making the quint that in his day this guy was a fair few cuts above her in the talent stakes yet seems largely forgotten.
As for Hepworth she has an entire Gallery named after her, I think she has been truly noted.'"
It wasn't specifically aimed at anyone. More just to make the point to read your text rather than just put down Mcdonald.
I've seen Me and My Girl and it's amazing. Not sure how close it is now to his original but his music is famous and perfectly preserved .

He did. The Lambeth Walk is from Me and my Gal and he wrote the music and not the lyrics as I previously stated.

| One of my favourite bands back in the day were Big Country, and have just recently read the biography of their late frontman, Stuart Adamson.
One of his biggest influennces was Bill Nelson.
Not someone who I have tapped into. Will give him a listen, as I will pretty much listen to anything once.
Out of curiosity, what style music is he, and was he any good?

| That’s a great find Vasty, like a couple of others, somewhere back in time, I’d been told about this but haven’t seen or heard anything about him or his story for decades.
The Sun Has Got His Hat On, Lambeth Walk, Run Rabbit Run and Leaning on a Lampost made famous by George Formby.
The guy should definitely have a Star

Quote vastman="vastman"Just found out about this bloke. Just shows how fleeting fame can be.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noel_Gay
I believe we have two stars on our walk of fame Neil Fox (deserved) and Jane McDonald (not so sure)
Now this guy is before the time of anyone posting on here I suspect but the tunes he wrote are are still quite well known and in their day as famous as anything the Beatles wrote.
Yet I'd never heard of him until yesterday, shame as I reckon he deserves a star but considering Box's contempt for the city I don't suppose he will.
'"
I think the Cribs have a star on the walk of fame.

| I have known about him for years and surprised how many have not heard of him. I am sure he has a blue plaque on the main cathedral entrance and was a member of the choir back in the day.
Vasty here is another one for you, George Gissing. I am not a literature anorak but those who are tell me his skill as an author are comparable to Charles Dickens. He has a small house were he lived now turned into a museum and its near the Woolpacks.
