I also think Mason has something to offer as an impact forward - if all that enforcer nonsense is left behind and he's coached to just run hard and straight, he's still a handful.

Agreed, no such style or position exists in the modern game. That's not to say a certain toughness and willingness to stand your ground isn't an asset - it is but that's all about mentality. One more prop ia all we need.

I agree. I'd like to add Kirke to that list and I'd leave it at that.



As for Mason, I don't really like his style of hardness. He's too willing to give a penalty away without actually gaining anything for it. I do think our forwrads will need to protect Smith this year. There will be a few thugs that think messing with him will gain an advantage over us with no retaliation. You need forwards who will stand up for their team but not one with too quick on the draw.

Poore seems to be willing to handle himself in SOO so I'm ok that he'll be able to handle himself with us.
