I cant spot this in the latest government advice.

Social gatherings of more than 6 people are banned but, what happens to pubs where there may be several smaller groups.

For example, if there were 5 groups of 4 people watching TV in a pub, is that still permitted.



It would be 20 people in total but only 5 groups



I cant see where pubs are closing or banned from showing sport so surely, this will be ok ?

our daughter had a 30 th in a restaurant in Manchester about 24 people across 6 tables - although we weren’t sat together at the end meal we went to roof bar and had six tables - bar staff kept them us in check so guess your right.



Reality is some people will ignore it but most will do their best to conform

The way its going there wont be fans at next years games either .

They are "Moving the goalposts" as you put it as they are constantly reacting to data on infection rates as it comes in - Both on a regional and national basis, what is your suggestion then? To just ignore any rise in infections and move ahead regardless?

Playing is exempt but not crowd.

Just means it will be longer before we can watch live matches at the stadium rather than Sky.

The government are saying maximum crowd will be one thousand not the ten thousand previously stated. So that’s this season done for sure

Tbh 1000 is a bigger conundrum than ten k or none - how would the club select them and assuming it’s our home game it’s all just money going out

It probably wouldn't even be as high as a thousand at Belle Vue either as it's all linked to overall capacity, amount of seating, quaity of concourses, entrance & exit points etc, all with social distancing enforced. Given it would have to be for season ticket holders, so no actual extra sales, as soon as you admit fans you'd have costs to cover for stewarding, medical cover etc plus putting in hand sanitiser stations and not having food & drink stalls open to limit movement the likelihood is it would be a loss maker. I think we can forget about it for this season and just hope things have improved enough by the start of next.
