Quote feline="feline"Despite the fact we are going to Huddersfield and they are out to party I am looking forward to going to the game today. I am going with my good friend Normycat. We have been with OUR club for many a year.......fans who are new to this cannot appreciate what we have now compared to what we had then. There was no club shop, not even any merchandise ! Me and Mrs Normycat put our own money in and bought around 100 mugs, some red white & blue hairslides and jewellery, some pens pencils rubbers etc all with club logo or colours and sold them to fans out of the old first aid hut. Fans were eager for anything and we sold.We sold out and bought more. Andy Kelly ( coach at the time 199icon_cool.gif laughed at the diaries we bought for 45p and sold for £2.00 but we sold them all. Profits were put back to the club and from there the need for a club shop was realised and it has grown to the fantastic facility we have in the ridings today. Equally along the way fans through Coolcats, Wisca, Squadbuilder, Swag , Brennan Rooney Fund, David March, Jason Demetriou, Adam Watene & Leon Walker Funds have raised money for great causes and to help fund countless player signings, cleaned & painted the ground, run the buses, held loads of events in Cats and help build the club to an 8000 strong average crowd who shout loud and proud. Players, Coaches, Staff, owners have changed but all the people involved on the terraces and in the stands we are still here and still have more to give. That is why all who are financially able at this point should buy our season tickets and encourage as many fans as possible to get to the last game of the season and don't let the errors of a few destroy the hard work of the majority. Use it or lose it !! See you at a game soon'"
Excellent post from feline, it really does put things into perspective.
Things aren't good clearly, thing will be bad again in the future - but they have been worse.
I aren't going this afternoon, but I didn't plan to anyway as I can't do many away games.
One game stands out as being very important though.
Cas next week, it's our last game, our last home game, I'm sure we will be in for some stick from our friends over on WF10 and there is the small matter of bragging rights and league positions too.
Turn up in number, if you have a friend and a £5 ticket voucher in your STickets bring them too.
Lets make BV rock for the last time this season, show the players and the club we are all behind them.
