| This is great news in terms of, if Guilfoyle accepts, it buys some time and helps them to see out the season. The press release implies that the club would then be sold onto a suitable buyer.
There is no statement what so ever about the future league for the club. Whether it be Super League or lower is not indicated.
I would imagine that if SL did buy the Bulls they would put in an independent CEO who could oversee any player trades etc. Then once back in independent ownership it is back to normal. If, it is a short term solution then great.
I appreciate so people think what about us? We had two potential buyers lined up and Glover completed in relatively quick time without conditions. Bradford has gone on for a long time and they will be bust in a week or two without a credible buyer.
All the questions on fair treatment will have been discussed at Red Hall yesterday and the clubs must be happy with the answers.
Posters above are correct though in this setting a dangerous precedent. With what happened to Blackpool, this can be seen as a disgrace. I'm sure Blackpool's debts were far from on the same scale as Bradford's.
I do wonder though, if all the other Super League clubs are existing creditors of Bradford then they can't afford for Bradford to go bust?
Either way, if a credible new owner (post Super League ownership) comes to light and is deemed fair then they can apply for a licence to be assessed on strong criteria. Otherwise, Championship rugby and build again.

Disgraceful in my opinion the double standards shown
Rugby League is fast becoming the laughing stock of sport, a shambles of a game run by incompetant fools. At this rate the proffessional game will be lucky to last another 10 years.

The MLB have done it twice recently (Texas & LA Dodgers) but that league doesn't have the ridiculous kick teams out for not having a pretty stadium rule every 3 years, so it's totally different, not to mention in a different country.
What I want to know is where has the money come from? If ABC offered 5m, surely SLE would have to match that at least, so where has that come from?
Quote coco the fullbackDid the RFL bully the clubs into this decision'"
Would it surprise anyone? They've done it before.

It’s called paranoia, and hardly surprising after the year you’ve had .

| I cant quite understand why this has been done, even if it ends up being some kind of stop gap until the end of the season.
Why has there been so much determined effort to save Bradford ?
Yes they are a "big" club who prospered in the early days of SL and yes, they have a 10000 strong fanbase but, is this deal about protecting a club, an iconic ground, completing a seasons fixtures (without the embarrassment of wiping out a teams results, or is this to protect the RFL's investment in a lease for a hole in the ground.
This is mind-blowing and my head is hurting just trying to reconcile what has been agreed.

| Quote TrinitarianWF2="TrinitarianWF2"For me the worse part is the lack of any movements of this sort to save other ailing (smaller clubs) they've let die by the wayside. Where was this help for Blackpool?
It shouldn't matter if your Blackpool, Bramley or Bradford, in essence I support helping them all (within limits) but there has to be a greater sense of parity to the help we give- no matter who you are. Rather than this too big to fail crap.
All I'm saying is that SHOULD Salford go belly up we better be prepared to buy a club with a lease they can't afford to pay.'"
All these clubs and a few more that are not around ,or not now around at top level, all chipped in to help resurrect this cinderella club that is most famous for going bust.Just look at the player Trinity let them have in 1964 Ian Brooke for one springs to mind.I just dont know how the keep getting away with it

| An utter disgrace.
No club is bigger than the game,
How can any other club be now left to fend for themselves if they are in difficulty?
Are Salford the next club to be purchased ?
Complete shambles.

| Hold on a second, if the RFL have promised us a Super League license for the next 10000 years in exchange for this then I'd take it!
In all seriousness, this is bizarre.
