Not only that, it's evident that Wakefield have struggled financially in the current SL model, so if the reduction in teams would generate more income then it's a no-brainer.

Who says sky will pay the same for 12 teams as they do for 14, with the potential loss of subscribers?,its not like they have any competition. |

If they wanted to be associated with the top teams they would have walked out with 6 of the top 8 wouldn't they?
At any other time I would agree on your second point, but given our very weak position at the moment our stance seems strange to say the least. |

Well, where do Sky make their money???
Friday night RL has the second highest viewing of any other slot on Sky sports
I aren't an intelligent man and never claim to be  but I reckon that's reason enough for them to keep RL on their books.
And I only assume that 12 teams will get more sky funding each than 14 teams. No logic other than a common sense assumption.
If we knew everything there wouldn't be a forum  |

I meant on the field as opposed to off it, though I never considered that. Did Leeds walk out???
I don;t think it's viable at such a high profile meeting to say "we oppose cause we might get relegated" ...though that's purely opinion |

Whether she has, or hasn't, I believe she has a track record of not running RL clubs into administration. We should question everything the club does, regardless of who is in charge, but I feel a lot safer about the long term future of the club now, than in the last two/three years. |

The proposals lead to a slight tv income increase for the championship clubs paid for from the tv money saved from the two relegated clubs. There would be no increase in tv money for the remaining SL clubs.
There would though be two less home games a season, which leads to less value in a season ticket so lower prices there, plus less exposure for club sponsors. Wakefield voting for a reduction is like a turkey voting for christmas. |

In a way I agree. I just up the agenda isn't to gently run the club down to long term safety and stability in the lower leagues. |
